Exchanges
Centralized and decentralized trading platforms
Binance
The world's largest crypto exchange by volume. Massive catalog (350+ cryptos), spot, futures up to 125x, options, staking, launchpad. Unbeatable liquidity and very competitive fees (0.1% spot, BNB discounts).
Coinbase
The most regulated US exchange, publicly listed (NASDAQ). Most accessible UX for beginners. Higher fees than average on the simple app, much lower on Coinbase Advanced.
Uniswap
The most used DEX on Ethereum and EVM chains. No KYC, full self-custody. v3 with concentrated liquidity, v4 with hooks. Also on L2 (Arbitrum, Optimism, Base).
Kraken
One of the oldest and most respected exchanges (since 2011). Excellent security track record, never hacked. Futures with Kraken Pro, native ETH staking. Available in France.
Hyperliquid
Revolutionary perpetuals DEX on its own L1. Performance close to a CEX, on-chain orderbook, very low fees. The reference for decentralized futures trading.
Bybit
Specialized in futures, becoming a reference for perp traders. Growing spot, copy trading, P2P. Good mobile app. Very competitive derivatives fees.
OKX
Comprehensive exchange with integrated Web3 wallet. Hybrid CEX + DEX, powerful futures, good UX. Large catalog including memes and emerging alts.
Bitget
Known for its very popular copy trading. Good spot/futures catalog, smooth mobile app, aggressive marketing.
KuCoin
The "People's Exchange": very wide catalog (700+ cryptos), mostly altcoins. Ideal for finding gems before they reach Binance.
MEXC
Huge catalog with ultra-fast listings (often first to list memes/alts). KYC not required for small volumes. For those chasing small caps.
Wallets
Hardware, hot wallets, multi-chain
Ledger
The reference French hardware wallet. Models Nano S+, Nano X, Stax, Flex. Ledger Live to manage all your assets. Compatible with 5000+ tokens. Industry standard.
MetaMask
THE hot wallet for Ethereum and EVM chains (~30M users). Browser extension + mobile app. Essential for DeFi. Limited to EVM chains (no native Bitcoin).
Trezor
Hardware wallet pioneer (since 2014). Open source (firmware + Trezor Suite). Models One, Safe 3, Safe 5. More transparency than Ledger but fewer tokens supported.
Phantom
The Solana MetaMask, now multichain (Solana + Ethereum + Polygon + Base + Bitcoin). Excellent UX, integrated swap, NFT support. Probably the best current hot wallet.
Rabby
Open source EVM wallet by DeBank. Excellent transaction preview (shows exactly what will happen before signing) + risk detection. The safest wallet for DeFi.
Trust Wallet
Binance's multichain mobile wallet (still self-custody). Supports 100+ chains, integrated dApp browser, staking. Heavily used on mobile.
Rainbow
EVM wallet with gorgeous UX, mobile-first focus. NFT-friendly, integrated swap, points and social features. Very popular in the Ethereum scene.
Exodus
Multichain desktop + mobile wallet (300+ assets). Great UI, integrated ChangeNOW swap. Compatible with Trezor to add cold storage on top.
DeFi
DEX, lending, staking, restaking
Aave
The reference DeFi lending protocol. Deposit to earn yield, borrow against collateral. Multichain (Ethereum, Polygon, Avalanche, Arbitrum, Optimism, Base...). Native GHO stablecoin.
Lido
ETH liquid staking #1 (stETH = ~30% of total ETH staking). Stake your ETH, receive liquid stETH usable in DeFi. ~3% APY yield. Also on Polygon, Solana before discontinuation.
Pendle
Future yield tokenization. Splits a yield-bearing asset (stETH, sUSDe...) into PT (principal token) + YT (yield token). Trade yield like an asset. Very popular for points farming.
Curve Finance
DEX specialized in stablecoin and correlated asset swaps (stETH/ETH, etc.). Minimum slippage on these pairs. veCRV model = lock for boost gauge yield. DeFi pillar.
EigenLayer
Pioneer of Ethereum restaking. Reuses already-staked ETH to secure other services (AVS). Revolutionary but complex concept + additional slashing risks.
GMX
Perps DEX on Arbitrum and Avalanche. GLP model (multi-asset liquidity pool). Trade BTC/ETH/alts up to 50x leverage in decentralized mode.
Sky (ex-MakerDAO)
Creator of DAI (rebranded to USDS via Sky). Mint stablecoins by locking collateral (ETH, RWA, etc.). DSR (DAI Savings Rate) for native yield.
Jito
SOL liquid staking #1 (JitoSOL). Captures MEV rewards in addition to classic staking yield. Solana liquid staking standard.
